The death of a loved one is the single most stressful thing that can happen to a person. Madrone Hospice recognizes the need to provide support to those who have experienced the loss of someone they love.

A small tear relieves great sorrow.
 -Proverb

  • The work of grief knows no calendar. It takes a great deal of time, usually a year or more.
  • People experience shock or numbness and sometimes, denial. Others don’t go through a prolonged stage of shock and are able to express their emotions immediately.
  • A person may journey through these stages of grief or experience feelings of:

- Anger
- Bargaining
- Depression
- Acceptance
- Pain

- Stress
- Forgetfulness
- Anxiety
- Guilt

  • Whatever symptoms a person may manifest, we are here to help work through it.

We offer the following Grief Groups quarterly and in different locations in Siskiyou County:

* Adult Children who have lost a parent *
* Adults who have lost a spouse or partner *
* Children who have lost a loved one *

Please call for the time and location of the next group.

Bereavement Services are available free to all community members who have experienced loss through death.
