In medieval times, hospice was a place to shelter sick and weary travelers. The Madrone Hospice House has been created as a place of shelter and care for people facing life’s final journey . . . where patients may live their final days with loving care and dignity, supported by family and friends. The Madrone Hospice House has been made possible through generous support of individuals and organizations who believe in our mission. Providing the comfort of the Hospice House is their gift to the people of Siskiyou County.
Beauty, serenity and compassion come together at Madrone Hospice House, providing:
- an intimate, home-like environment where the focus is comfort
- a private room in a peaceful setting
- 24 hour individualized nursing care
- fresh, nutritious meals
- continuing support of the hospice care team.
Accommodations may be arranged for loved ones who may wish to spend the night. We believe there is no place like home, but we also acknowledge there may be times when patients are unable to remain in their homes.
Admission All residents admitted to the Hospice House shall be patients of Madrone Hospice, and shall remain under the care of Madrone Hospice. Referrals may be made by a physician or family member. Admission is prioritized to support individuals who are most “at risk” in their current environment, and those who reside in Siskiyou County or unserved counties immediately adjacent.
Room & Board Patient and/or family members are responsible for room and board. Payments will be made in advance. Any unused portion of room and board will be refunded ten days after a patient leaves the Hospice House. Residents whose families are unable to pay are encouraged to meet with the Hospice House Administrator regarding a payment plan and/or a subsidy from our In-house Care Fund.
