Casino Night at Grenada Gardens
Join Grenada Gardens and Madrone Hospice in a fun evening of poker, cocktails, food, and more! Proceeds go to benefit Madrone’s hospice services.
Death Cafe
At a Death Cafe, people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death. Our objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their finite lives.
A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session.

Volunteer Brunch
We host this annual Volunteer Brunch to express the heartfelt gratitude we feel for our devoted volunteers. We rely on volunteers to support our hospice patients, to help run our Thrift Shop and Heartisan Boutique, to tend our grounds, to help deliver meals, and more! We hope to have as many volunteers with us for this brunch as possible - if you would like to volunteer with us, please reach out: 530-842-3160.
Art Auction
Join us for a wonderful evening of champagne, a catered meal, wine, and an exciting auction of art and art objects produced by local creatives! Proceeds benefit the homelike environment and hospice care provided at our Madrone House. See you there!
Donate Art to Our Art Auction!

Death Café
It can be challenging to find a place to converse about death and dying - either your own sense of it, or your experiences with it. Join us for an evening of sipping tea, nibbling cake, and connecting with others who want to talk about this difficult topic.
Light Up a Life, 12/1/23
We count ourselves fortunate to be a part of such a kind, supportive community here in Siskiyou County. Our Light Up a Life ceremony took place here in Yreka on December 1st, 2023, and brought many wonderful people together to share the memories of those whom we’ve loved and lost. For those who couldn’t be there in person, or if you’d like to see what our Light Up a Life event looks like, have a look at the video below.

Death Cafe, 2/28/24
In February, Madrone supported a Death Cafe in Yreka, helping to offer a space for our community to share their feelings and experiences around death. Death Cafes can help to reduce the stress and anxiety that surrounds the topic of death. All are welcome to this quarterly meeting!
